Arab FMs to hold extraordinary meeting Nov. 29 to discuss Palestinian situations


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Arab League Council is to hold an extraordinary session at the foreign ministers' level at League's headquarters on Saturday November 29 to discuss development of the situations on the Palestinian arena.

A meeting of the Arab peace initiative committee is to precede the extraordinary session, Arab League Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Ahmad bin Hilli said in a press statement Sunday, adding that the peace initiative committee is to be presided by Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

The extraordinary session, to be chaired by Mauritanian Foreign Minister Ahmad Ould Teguedi, in presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, will follow implementation of resolutions of previous foreign ministers' meetings regarding the Palestinian issue, Israeli hostility in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Israeli settlement, Arab national security, and combating terrorist organizations, and bin Hilli noted.

He also said that League's General Secretariat had circulated a memorandum to member states mentioning that Dr. Nabil Al-Araby has conducted consultations with Kuwait, as Summit's President, Mauritania, as president of League's Council, and Palestine regarding the situations in Palestinian lands, adding that the memo has called forathe extraordinary session.
