Saudi- Women's charity raises funds for orphans

(MENAFN- Arab News) A local charity is running a bazaar for women with all the proceeds going to help 4500 orphans in the country.

Mawakeb Alajr (The Goodness Convoy) shop launched the bazaar on Oct. 18. It will run until Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The items on sale include designer clothes bags accessories for women and children antique furniture and pre-owned handbags from various top brand names.

Abeer Abdul Aziz Noeser founder and committee member of Mawakeb Alajr said the aim was to launch a charitable initiative that combines women's affinity for beautiful fashion and the need to nurture and support the underprivileged. She said several organizations individuals and charity associations donated clothes furniture children's clothes and toys. Volunteers sorted through all the items and then displayed them on the shelves for customers.

Before the event volunteers and members of the organizing team spent months inviting groups institutions and organizations on social media via email and media outlets to participate.

'One can find brand new goods and second-hand products at unbelievably low prices. This fair offers customers who are looking for cheaper alternatives a more convenient and financially viable means of shopping. Moreover buying second-hand goods from such reliable platforms is worthwhile' she said.

Many citizens and expatriates have visited she said. 'I think it is a noble cause that benefits everyone. Customers benefit from purchasing goods at a low cost volunteers benefit from giving back to the community and it allows us to raise funds and provide assistance to the needy' she said.
