G20 Leaders Sign Measures to Spur Global Growth


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Brisbane November 16 (QNA) - Leaders at the G20 Summit have signed measures to spur global growth over five years by additional 2.1 percentage points.

Top economies of the G20 have signed the package Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Sunday. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) shall review its progress he said.

Abbott also said the G20 would launch a global infrastructure initiative. Energy ministers of the group would meet for the first time next year he added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin today left the summit before it officially ends. Western leaders criticised him Saturday over the Ukraine conflict.

Around 4000 delegates attended the G20 Leaders' Summit. The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre hosted the principal meeting. (QNA)
