S. Korean Australian Foreign Ministers Agree to Cooperate on FTA

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Seoul November 09 (QNA) - South Korea's Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se and his Australian counterpart Julie Bishop have agreed to swiftly complete domestic procedures for an early effectuation of a bilateral free trade agreement.

Both parties reached the agreement on Saturday in a separate meeting on the sidelines of a meeting of ministers of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) countries in Beijing.

The two sides also agreed to cooperate in order to achieve substantive results in a meeting of foreign ministers of MIKTA or five middle power nations which will be held concurrently with the meeting of G20 leaders in Brisbane next month according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website.

MIKTA represents Mexico Indonesia Korea Turkey and Australia.

The two sides also agreed to cooperate in order to achieve substantive results in a meeting of foreign ministers of MIKTA or five middle power nations which will be held concurrently with the meeting of G20 leaders in Brisbane next month. MIKTA represents Mexico Indonesia Korea Turkey and Australia.

In addition Yun and Bishop agreed to closely cooperate for a meeting of foreign and defense ministers of the two nations next year.

Earlier on Saturday Yun held a separate meeting with Indonesia's Foreign Minister Retno Marsurdi and extended an invitation for Indonesia's new President Joko Widodo to take part in the ASEAN-Korea Commemorative Summit set for next month in Busan. (QNA)
