UAE- Dewa organises lunch for 350 Muslim converts


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) As part of its corporate social responsibility strategy and in support of International Literacy Day the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai recently organised a celebratory lunch for 350 people who converted to Islam.

“In line with its vision to become a sustainable world-class utility and its commitment to support national identity and achieve the vision of our prudent leadership the Dewa’s strategy enhances corporate social responsibility through development initiatives and programmes for all segments of society including new Muslims to achieve the vision of Dubai Government for society. This celebration is one of many social events and initiatives the Dewa organises round the year to support the social development of Dubai and enhance communication with all segments of society” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer MD and CEO of the authority.



Jassim Rajab Financial Controller at the Dewa welcomed the guests and congratulated them on their decision to choose Islam. He commended the role that Dubai’s Islamic organisations play in educating foreign expatriates about the tolerant teachings of Islam and presenting its true image. The Dewa is keen to participate in all such events that enhance its corporate social responsibility.



At the event Dewa employees congratulated the converts. Each one received an electronic device that includes a speaking Holy Quran for non-Arabic-speaking Muslims which has the readings of the Holy Quran and translations into Tagalog Mandarin and Amharic.
