Porsche China to recall units over lock defects


(MENAFN) China's top quality supervisor said that Porsche China Motors will recall units of Porsche 911 Carrera, Caymen and Boxster models over a lock bracket fault on the front hood, Xinhua reported.

The recall includes 285 vehicles in China, with 911 Carrera produced from May 7 to June 16 in 2014, Caymen manufactured on May 26 in 2014 and Boxster produced from May 7 to June 12 in 2014.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement that the front hoods may pop open due to the lock bracket issue which causes the defect.

The recall starts November 17 and the Germany-based auto maker's dealers said that they will replace the defective parts free of charge.
