Road Accidents Kill 225 People in Six Months in Kuwait


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency)  Kuwait's Ministry of Interior reported Saturday that the death toll of road accidents topped 225 people in the first six months of 2014.
The fatalities include 88 Kuwaiti citizens and the rest are foreign residents; they include 197 male victims, or 88 percent, and 28 females, the ministry reported, citing statistics of the Traffic Dept.
The report is released on the occasion of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, being celebrated on the third Sunday of November every year, KUNA reported.
People between 21 and 30 years accounted for the biggest number of victims - 50 fatalities, in the first half of the year, while people above 61 remained the least accident-prone age category. The total number of road accidents, registered across Kuwait in this period amounted to 49,437.
