Qatar- Sheraton to open for sneak peek today

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Sheraton Doha hotel will re-open today to give its guests a sneak peek into the restoration of one of Doha's most recognised landmarks, Katara Hospitality that owns Sheraton said yesterday. The 32-year-old five-star hotel, which was closed since March this year for renovation, is scheduled to re-open in December. All bookings for guest rooms and other restaurants will open next month.

"The inimitable Sheraton Doha has occupied a special place in the hearts of Qatar's residents for more than three decades. It has proudly hosted numerous special events in that time and holds many cherished memories for Qataris and Qatar's residents," said Sheikh Nawaf bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of Katara Hospitality. "We are excited to celebrate a new chapter in Sheraton Doha's legacy and look forward to celebrating more milestones in future years," he said.

The special sneak peek of Sheraton Doha will give local residents and guests access to the lobby and public areas, with the hotel team offering tours of all the renovated areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, the convention centre, the recreation centre and food and beverage outlets.

While the hotel will not be operational until its official re-opening in December, Sheraton Doha will open its all-day dining outlet, Al Hubara, and its lobby café, Atrium Lounge, during the sneak peek period.

The hotel is currently working its final stages of the extensive renovation, which includes the refurbishment of all 371 guest rooms and suites, the 35,000 square foot purpose-designed convention center and other meeting spaces. All public areas and recreation facilities have also been enhanced. The renovation upgrades the hotel with modern standards in operational, building management and technology systems, while retaining its iconic 1980's characteristics and heritage.

Sheraton Doha will continue to house nine food and beverage outlets in total including South American eatery, Latino Steakhouse, Al Shaheen Lebanese Restaurant and the Irish Harp.

Katara Hospitality has partnered up with the Private Engineering Office (PEO) for the restoration of Sheraton Doha Resort and Convention Hotel.

As a part of the sneak peak, Sheraton Doha is reaching out to local community and loyal guests to share their cherished memories and early pictures of the Sheraton Doha through social media platforms. The best contributions will be put on display in the hotel lobby, upon its official opening in December.
