(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT Nov 8 (KUNA): Kuwait Television will dispatch a very large team of staff with state-of-art equipment to Riyadh to cover the 22nd Arabian Gulf Cup Tournament due later this month said a Ministry of Information's official on Saturday. Yusuf Mustafa the assistant undersecretary for television affairs indicated in remarks to KUNA that the planned dispatch of the large coverage team to the Saudi capital is due to the awareness that the GCC championship is very popular in the GCC countries. The TV team will include renowned commentators and will interview famous players.
The KTV canal-3 will air the games live along with diverse programs related to the matches. Mustafa affirmed the keenness on abiding by guidelines of the Minister of Information Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al- Sabah to provide all possibilities for the team covering the sports event. In related story the 22nd Arabian Gulf Football Cup Media Committee launched on Friday an application for smartphones called '22gulfcup' to follow up on the tournament results. The supervisor of Gulf 22 website and the application Naeem Al-Baker said that the media were keen on launching the application free of charge as a service presented to sport followers everywhere noting that the application contains many features and daily updates on the tournament which can be access it and upload easily. Al-Baker noted that issues like the speed of surfing the application icons the official colors of the tournament news and other various services were taken into account during the programming phase including fixtures and specialized statistics in addition to table of players' top goals. The application goal aims at empowering sport fans on the competition and events of the tournament Al-Baker added.
