UAE funds USD10bn projects in Egypt


(MENAFN) The Coordination Office of the UAE-funded Development Projects in Egypt revealed that the UAE is funding a number of development projects, with an estimated worth of more than USD10 billion in 18 governorates in Egypt, Emirates 24/7 reported.

These development projects are targeted at important sectors in the country including energy, housing, urban development and food security as well as health, public transport and education, with the aim of helping the country's struggling economy as well as create 600.000 jobs and serve 10 million people

Examples of these new projects include the establishing of 100 schools and 78 clinics, training more than 100.000 Egyptians so they could join the job market, as well as building a new line for production of vaccines and serums and building more than 50.000 housing units.

The funding also include implementing sewerage projects in 51 villages, helping in the construction of four bridges and providing 600 public transport buses.
