Bahrain's Asry, OISA sign deal


(MENAFN) Bahrain's Asry, the leading ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, announced it has signed a memorandum of permanent mutual co-operation with the Organisation of Islamic Ship Owners' Association (OISA), Gulf Daily News reported.

Asry said that the new agreent is expected to enhance the cooperation between the yard and the member countries of OISA as well as the navigation and shipping companies in those countries, which in turn will help Asry in expanding its future projects, particularly in rig repair and shipbuilding.

Asry also said that the signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) is very important for the future development of Asry, as it will open the way for attracting more business from various companies in the OISA member countries.

Under the terms of the MoU, Asry is expected to provide expertise and services for the docking and maintenance of OISA members' vessels, as well as support the vessels with priority high quality service in a timely cost-effective manner as well as share share the results of case studies and researches related to previous dockings with OISA members.

"The purpose of the MoU is to clearly identify and define the roles and responsibilities of each party as they work together towards achieving common objectives and goals. It is also to initiate co-operation between the two parties, as well as to establish fruitful relationships with OISA members for the mutual benefit of the parties concerned," Asry's General Manager said.
