China's aircraft demand forecasted at 5,483 jets in 20 years
(MENAFN) According to forecasts by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), the country needs round 5,483 new civil planes in the next two decades to cope with the rising demand, Xinhua reported.
The forecasted number includes 4,491 large aircrafts and 992 regional planes, as by the year 2033, there is expected to be around 6,785 civil airplanes, the AVIC figures showed.
The AVIC said China's expanding economy, ongoing urbanization and growing consumption will drive sustainable growth in the aviation industry, but there are some challenges to face.
Boeing forecasted earlier in September that China would need an approximate of 98,000 more pilots and 101,000 maintenance technicians in the next 20 years to cope with the increasing demand.
