SingTel's net profit up 19 percent in Q2

(MENAFN) Singapore's Telecommunications Ltd. (SingTel) posted a net profit increase of 19 percent in the second quarter, hitting USD832 million, marking the highest in ten quarter, Xinhua reported.

Total revenue rose 4 percent to USD3.45 billion on strong performance in ICT services, mobile data growth and equipment sales in Singapore and Australia, as well as higher digital marketing revenue.

Southeast Asia's largest telecommunications operator attributed the growth to the "underlying strength in its core business, strong execution and continued investments in strategic initiatives".

"We delivered very strong results this quarter, underpinned by performance improvements across all of our businesses," CEO of SingTel Group said in a statement.
