Jordan's King Holds Talks with Palestinian President


(MENAFN- QNA) King Abdullah II of Jordan held here on Wednesday talks with the Palestinian President Mahmoud abbas on the peace efforts, current developments in the region and issues of mutual concern, said the Jordanian Royal Court today During the talks King Abdullah II affirmed Jordan's position in support of achieving peace and solving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, through to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with its capital in East Jerusalem.
King Abdullah II and President Abbas emphasized keenness to sustain coordination and consultation on different challenges and current developments in the region and the city of Jerusalem in particular.
For his part, Palestinian president expressed his appreciation for Jordan's efforts to preserving Al-Aqsa Mosque and protecting if from Israeli violations.
The two sides also touched on the regional situations and the efforts for combatting terrorism.
