Turkey's PM reveals Ankara vision for 2015 G20 presidency

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Tuesday said his country will open the door for dialogue against economic inequality when it claims presidency of the G20 in 2015.

Turkey will take over the 2015 G20 presidency on December 1 following the ninth meeting of Group's heads of government in the city of Brisbane, Australia, 15-16 November.

Addressing a meeting for the parliamentary group of the ruling Justice and Development (AKP) party, Davutoglu added that Turkey's economy ranks 16th in the world and 6th in Europe.

He noted that the Turkish government had launched efforts to develop the health care sector and the aeronautic, auto and space industries as well as railways systems. Unlike neighboring countries that are suffering from political instability and other serious problems, Turkey is "the only country that has the power to meet the economic needs," of their people, "our brothers and sisters," he said.

Founded in 1999, the G20 membership comprises a mix of the world's largest advanced and emerging economies, representing about two-thirds of the world's population, 85 per cent of global gross domestic product and over 75 percent of global trade.

Members of the Group are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, the US and the European Union.
