Oman Air celebrates Women's Day

(MENAFN- Arab News) Women currently comprise over 30 percent of Oman Air's work force which shows its commitment in line with Sultan Qaboos' directives.

Oman Air CEO Paul Gregorowitsch comments: 'Oman Air is recognized as one of the leading companies in the sultanate offering women a safe and supportive employment environment.

Jumana Al-Hassani says: 'Working in the Cargo I come across different situations each requiring a different approach. With the right guidance and support I have been able to handle the issues fairly well.'

Asma Al-Sharji says: 'Before I joined Oman Air I saw ground handling jobs as being traditionally male occupations. Now I can see that Oman Air's policy of supporting women to take up any role within the company has created many new opportunities for women.'

Maliha Al-Bahlani says: 'With new aircraft arriving and new routes being planned the job in hand is demanding but seeing women in a range of senior roles throughout the company is very motivating.'

Sheikha Al-Sharji says: 'In many ways the finance department is the 'engine room' of Oman Air. Finance is central to all the company's operations and gives us a very good overview of how the company works how it grows and how important it is to meet and exceed our customers' expectations.'

Cabin crew has traditionally been seen as a role that is predominantly suitable for women. However the increased number of male cabin crew at Oman Air has underlined the fact that all roles are open to both men and women. Khadija Al-Hamdani working in the crew grooming department comments: 'There are women working in senior jobs at Oman Air both on the ground and in the air. It shows that when it comes to women building a successful career at Oman Air the sky's the limit.'
