(MENAFN- QNA) HE the Speaker of Advisory Council Mohamed bin Mubarak Al-Khulaifi expressed Tuesday his thanks to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for inaugurating the 43rd ordinary session of the Advisory Council.
HE the Speaker also expressed his appreciation to "the unlimited support" the council receives from HH the Emir and also praised HH the Emir for his effort in attaining the public interest of the nation and its citizens.
Additionally, HE the Speaker of the Advisory Council highlighted the Emiri gesture of increasing the social insurance to beneficiaries, which, Al Khulaifi added, affirms HH's keenness to alleviate the burden of living for these categories, raise their standard of living and to achieve decent and secured life to the people of this nation.
This came in the speech HE Al-Khulaifi delivered at the inauguration of the Council's 34th ordinary session in which he said the council will continue to exert sincere efforts to shoulder its responsibility to achieve the interest of the nation and the loyal people.
Addressing HH the Emir, HE the Speaker of the Advisory Council said "We have listened with great attention to your stately speech, in which Your Highness outlined our country’s internal and external policy in light of the situations and the changes that are taking place in the regional and international arenas and the major achievements accomplished by your esteemed government, " noting that on the domestic level the State of Qatar featured a comprehensive development that covered all industrial, educational, health and infra-structural sector which HH the Emir gave utmost care in order to strengthen the national economy which, he said, has made unprecedented developmental steps.
Al Khulaifi highlighted the communication sector in particular; with the state launching the first Qatari Satellite "Es'hailsat 1" in August 2013. It will be followed by "Es'hailsat 2" in 2016.
In the foreign affairs arena, HE the Speaker of the Advisory council praised HH the Emir on "the prominent and dynamic role" Qatar played on the regional and international levels. Al Khulaifi focused in particular on Gaza expressing the council's deep concern over the Israeli aggression against Palestine, which culminated in the recent attack against Gaza strip. He added that "Our brethren in Gaza were subjected to atrocities and genocide war in which homes and towers were destroyed and mosques, schools, handicapped shelters and hospitals were targeted."
"The entire nation will not forget the role played by Your Highness from the onset of the Israeli's aggression on Gaza strip, through intensive communication with all the leaders and the concerned parties, and for your tremendous efforts to stop the aggression and to put an end to the massacres that were committed by Israel against the besieged Palestinian people," HE the Speaker of the Advisory Council said. He added that the council appreciates the generous support offered by the State of Qatar during the International Donors Conference for the Reconstruction of Gaza Strip, which took place in Cairo recently.
