Two Kuwaitis get death for torture murder

(MENAFN- Arab Times) SHARJAH Nov 4 (Agencies): Two Kuwaiti youths were sentenced to death by the Sharjah Criminal Court in UAE and a third suspect was fined 1000 Dirhams for leaving the country without reporting the crime to concerned authorities following the murder of their colleague at Sharjah University last February.

The court issued capital punishment against the suspects 18 and 19 years old respectively for snatching the freedom of their colleague and raping and torturing him to death. The suspects are said to have documented the crime in a six-minute video using cell phones besides other related scenes of physical attacks and torture. Sources said the family of the victim welcomed the verdict with ease. Earlier the family had refused any reconciliation move and stressed the desire to see the killers punished
