(MENAFN) Government data showed that Japan has logged a record current account surplus of USD17.69 billion in the first half of the current financial year, QNA reported.
During the period, the surplus increased by 1.4 percent from a year ago, the largest for the half fiscal year, on the back of the weaker yen, the Finance Ministry said in a statement.
Imports climbed 6.7 percent from a year ago to USD354.62 million against a backdrop of rising imports of liquefied natural gas, while exports rose 5.5 percent to USD316.18 million.
