KEPCO net profit up 61.1 percent in Q3


(MENAFN) Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) announced posting a net profit increase of 61.1 percent in the July-September period on the back of higher electricity and cheaper fuel costs, Yonhap reported.

Net income reached USD1.37 billion in the third-quarter period, compared with USD891.46 million registered in the same period a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Meanwhile, sales of the South Korean state-run power firm surged by 4.3 percent, hitting USD13.71 billion in the period, while operating income jumped by 84.9 percent to USD2.62 billion.
