Man Killed in Elevator Accident in South China

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency)  A Chinese man died after falling down an elevator shaft in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Monday, a local safety watchdog said.
The 26-year-old man stepped into the empty shaft while waiting for the elevator on the sixth floor of a hotel in the city of Beihai, Xinhua quoted police as saying.
Beihai police said the man might have kicked the door open himself as he was intoxicated at the time. However, the elevator area was not covered by CCTV, so there is no footage backing up the police's theory.
The Beihai police and Beihai safety supervision bureau are conducting further investigations to determine the cause of the fall.
