(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Hamad International Airport (HIA) has officially unveiled two latest facilities - 100-room Airport Hotel and Vitality Spa, while another 100-room hotel in the north node will open by early next year.
The hotel and spa in the south node offers passengers superb services and flexibility depending on their travel needs and schedules.
Whether travelling on business or for leisure, with family or without, the hotel will the needs of global and regional travellers who can book a room package for as long or short a stay as they require. They can also drop in to the spa for a swim in the 25-metre pool or a massage.
Badr Al Meer, Chief Operating Officer of the airport, Philippe Anric, General Manager, The Airport Hotel, guests and the media were present at a press conference convened to announce the opening.
Al Meer said: "The opening of the hotel and spa is another important milestone for the airport. We are delighted that we can now offer our passengers this sophisticated facility designed with consideration of their requirements while they are our guests in Doha."
Anric said: "We are delighted that the hotel is officially open for business. Our focus is to offer the best hospitality experience to our guests staying with us for one hour or one day. We look forward to welcoming passengers to the hotel where excellent customer service will always remain our top priority."
Guests can choose from superior, deluxe and executive rooms or executive suites, which can be booked for 0-3, 3-6, 6-12 or 12-24 hours, giving them the opportunity to rest in between flights or use the room as a base while they explore boutiques and restaurants over a 40,000sqm area at the airport.
Hotel guests can also enjoy over 70 retail outlets offering designer labels, high street fashion, electronics and gourmet foods, and over 30 cafés and restaurants offering global cuisine to suit everyone's palate.
Guests and non-staying guests can benefit from services at the spa, which includes a full-service gym equipped with cardiovascular machines, and a personal instructor, as well as two squash courts.
Passengers can also choose from treatments at the spa, to relieve the fatigue of travelling. There are three treatment rooms for men and two for women, and hydrotherapy baths in the male and female areas. The hotel has set up a website www.hiahotel.com for online reservations.
