GCC Welcomes Formation of New Yemeni Government


(MENAFN- QNA) GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif Rashid Al Zayani has welcomed the formation of the new Yemeni government under Khaled Bahah, describing the move as an important step towards the completion of the constitutional institutions and for advancing the peaceful political process to end the volatile situation and the difficult challenges facing Yemen.
The GCC Secretary-General expressed the hope that the new Yemeni government would face all political, security and economic challenges hampering the drive of Yemen towards a better future, including extending the state's sovereignty, maintaining the security and stability of Yemen and the continuation of the efforts of reconstruction and development, praising the cooperation of national political forces that championed the supreme interests of Yemen and its people and supported the formation of the government in order to preserve the security and stability of Yemen, its unity and sovereignty.
Dr. Al-Zayani confirmed the GCC continued support for the tireless efforts of Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and the Yemeni political forces aimed to continue the political process through the implementation of the GGC initiative and its operational mechanism, and the output of the National Dialogue Conference, terms of the Peace and National Partnership Agreement, calling on the international community and states supportive to Yemen to continue to provide all forms of support to that country in these difficult circumstances.
