(MENAFN- QNA) The flag of Qatar was hoisted today over its Embassy's headquarters in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar marking the beginning of diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
On this occasion, the Acting Charge d'Affaires at the Qatari Embassy in Yangon Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al-Haj held a reception ceremony attended by a number of officials at the Ministry Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Myanmar along with a set of Arab and Muslim communities in Yangon .
Al-Haj welcomed the attendees expressing his pleasure over relations development between the two countries, hoping this step would be a beginning of a new phase of cooperation, promotion of bilateral relations and developing them in order to serve the interests of both countries and peoples in all fields.
He expressed his thanks to the audience and officials of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for the facilities they provided for the opening the embassy.
