Saudi- TADAWUL: Telecom stocks surge 1.752
(MENAFN- Arab News) Saudi Arabia's benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) dug in at 9688.65 and ended its Sunday's trading up over 39 points or 0.41 percent.
Micro cap with one percent upward jump remained prominent among market cap indices. Most of the major sectors closed in the green territory accumulating an aggregate of 733 points.
Telecommunication & Information Technology sector bucked the 7-day downward trend and remained at top achieving 1.75 percent growth to close at 2417.86. Industrial Investment and Retail sectors followed it each advancing 1.17 percent for the day.
Only Multi-Investment Energy and Petrochemical sectors closed in red going down slightly. Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by a margin of 88 to 56 and the prices of 17 companies remained unchanged.
National Agriculture Marketing Co. (THIMAR) and Arabia Insurance Cooperative showed the best performance among all Saudi stocks soaring up 9.6 percent and 7.67 percent respectively. THIMAR share price crossed over SR100 recording a new 13-week high.
Samba Financial Group made the biggest jump among heavyweight equities achieving a daily growth of 2.89 percent to close the day at SR 46.28.
Most of the trading was concentrated in Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) with 73.4 million shares capturing one-third of total market volume. Interestingly the company volume was 43 times high over its 50-day average.
It also maintained a heavy flow of liquidity SR4.3 billion approximately one-half of the total Tadawul turnover. After nine days of trading Mobily showed a positive change and surged 3.64 percent to SR60.63.
Share trading activity was high as compared to previous day specifically SR8.6 billion were poured into the market. Trading volume was improving with about 212 million shares changed hands in the market a growth of 7.8 percent over the previous level.
The 50-day average for trading volume is closer to 275 million shares.
