UAE- Making friends with vocabulary


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Dr Nadine Al Asaad signed her new book titled Shadow of the Poem at the book signing corner in the 33rd edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair.

The ceremony was attended by an elite group of poets artists media representatives and SIBF attendees including renowned Iraqi poet Karim Al Iraqi and Bahraini artist Khalid Al Shaikh and a big crowd of visitors.



In the dedication Al Asaad wrote: “From ‘the Shadow of the Poem’ I unleash the words and make a friendship with all vocabularies.”



“I am thrilled to be present for the first time in the Sharjah International Book Fair which is a cultural extravaganza. I wish this great book fair will achieve greater excellence and leadership. I thank the readers of the emirate of Sharjah and the UAE for their interest in acquiring my poetry and works” she said.



Al Asaad said she selected Sharjah as a venue for the launch of her book as it is the emirate of poets authors and intellectuals a city where residents and visitors have a passion of poetry and literature.



She added that she is keen to be present in the fair every year to meet her readers in the region. Published by Madarek Publishing House the collection has 44 Ghazal poems.



Nadine Al Asaad is a Lebanese poet novelist and journalist. She holds a PhD in journalism and media and a postgraduate degree in public law.



She has published two collections of poems My Body Told Me and A Smell of a Man Taught me Love and in fiction she published Wind of Desire.
