(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The five Eida centres being closed for renovation are Al Ghubaiba Centre and Al Nasserya Centre in Sharjah Ajman Centre Al Fujairah Centre and Ras Al Khaimah Centre.
Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Identity Authority (Eida) has announced that five of its customer service centres annexed to the preventive medicine centres will remain temporarily closed for 43 days from November 9 to December 21 for renovation.
The five Eida centres being closed for renovation are Al Ghubaiba Centre and Al Nasserya Centre in Sharjah Ajman Centre Al Fujairah Centre and Ras Al Khaimah Centre.
The closure is aimed at enhancing the service standards in line with the UAE’s excellent government service programme and eventually earning a 7-star rating after turning all of them into ‘smart’ centres.
“This is part of the comprehensive plan to develop all customer service centres annexed to the preventive medicine centres whose administration was handed over to the authority. These centres will be brought on a par with the other customer services centres of the authority” Eida explained in a statement.
It called upon its customers to visit the alternative centres that are equipped to make up for the closed ones. The main customer service centres at Al Rahmania in Sharjah Al Dhait South in Ras Al Khaimah Sakamkam in Al Fujairah and Al Jurf in Ajman are the alternative centres.
The Eida said it has signed an agreement with Emirates Transport to transport customers from the closed centres to the alternative centres in addition to putting up signboards directing the customers to the alternative centres.
The signboards also include the official working hours at the alternative centres which are from 7am to 8pm.
The Eida currently has 56 centres across the UAE with a total daily capacity for registration being 18240 transactions. Of these centres 25 are annexed to the preventive medicine centres.
