UAE- Approval for Kalba beach protection project


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) In line with the directives of the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and to follow-up on the instructions of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces the Follow-up Committee of the Initiatives of UAE President has endorsed awarding a project for Kalba City beach protection and development.

The project extending along 7.7km stretch from the border of Kalba City with Fujairah City to Kalba Khour will be implemented at a cost of Dh200 million.



Adopted by the committee during its meeting on Monday under the chairmanship of Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Committee the project aims to protect the beach from flooding during seasonal storms in addition to protecting the beach sand from drifting because of ocean currents and also in securing recreational places for people. It will be implemented and managed by the Kalba Municipality.



The committee agreed on constructing and completing works on internal roads in different parts of the Northern Emirates to improve the infrasturcture and safety.
