UAE- Dewa to mark World Energy Day tomorrow
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) will be celebrating World Energy Day on Wednesday.
Announced by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai World Energy Day was endorsed by 54 countries as well as representatives of the United Nations Arab League and the African Union through the Dubai Declaration on October 22 2012.
The day was approved as World Energy Day to remind the world about the importance of energy its role in our lives and its positive impact on all aspects of social and economic development.
Dewa will mark the day with various activities and programmes to raise awareness about the importance of energy conservation rational use and using sustainable energy to enhance development.
The authority will organise a number of interactive workshops for its stakeholders and partners at it’s sustainable building in Al Qouz. The initiative seeks to highlight the importance of providing safe reliable sustainable and affordable energy for everyone.
