(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman Telecommunications Co SAOG (Omantel) on Sunday revealed the company's preliminary financial results for the nine-month period ended September 30 posting a seven per cent increase in net profit.
The telecom major said net profit attributable to equity holders rose to RO95.9mn from RO89.6mn a year earlier.
Revenue gained 1.7 per cent to reach RO357.6mn in the first nine months of this year compared with RO351.5mn in the corresponding period of 2013.
Ebitda was up 4.4 per cent to RO159.5mn. Expenses increased a marginal 0.2 per cent to RO257.6mn. Omantel's group customer base grew five per cent to 4.204mn from 4.001mn a year earlier.
The financial results are subject to approval by Omantel's board of directors at its upcoming meeting which shall be held within the statuary period set by Capital Market Authority a company press release said.
