NCPW Holds Regional Meeting on Chemical Weapons Convention


(MENAFN- QNA) A regional meeting on the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (CPCW) will begin on Monday at St. Regis Hotel in Doha.
The regional meeting is organized by Doha Regional Centre for training on Conventions on Weapons of Mass Destruction of the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons (NCPW).
The meeting to be attended by representatives of chemical industry sector and the national authorities of the States Parties to the CPCW will discuss ways to contribute effectively to the implementation of the convention's provisions, especially in chemical safety, verification and awareness.
It aims at consolidating the links between the national bodies and chemical industry sector to develop and raise awareness and increase the exchange of experiences among them.
Qatar established the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons at the Ministry of Defense. It also launched the Doha Regional Centre for training on Conventions on Weapons of Mass Destruction in December 2012.
