(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The EU on Saturday night welcomed the announcement of the formation of a new and inclusive government under the leadership of Prime Minister Khaled Bahah.
The government formation is "a critical step to make headway in much-needed economic and political reforms towards the successful conclusion of the transition," EU High Representative Federica Mogherini said in a statement.
"It is now important for all political actors to engage constructively to support the new cabinet to implement decisive reforms for the benefit of all Yemenis, and take action to improve fiscal sustainability and fight corruption in the public administration," she added.
She stressed that the EU is committed to continue supporting Yemen in its transition.
"The full implementation of the Peace and National Partnership Agreement and of its security annex is now critical to offer a way out of the current crisis, in line with the National Dialogue Conference's outcomes and the Gulf Cooperation Council Initiative," she said.
Mogherini also called on the constituent assembly to quickly deliver a draft constitution which enshrines the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yemen.
