Iranian FM, EU's Ashton in Muscat for nuclear talks
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and European Union's (EU) Catherine Ashton arrived in Muscat Saturday for nuclear talks, to be held in Oman's capital tomorrow and due to also include US Secretary of state John Kerry, diplomatic sources said.
The parties will attempt to make some progress towards a permanent agreement by November 24 that would ease concerns of the Western countries over peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program in return of easing of sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
Oman played a key role to resume nuclear negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 group in mid-2014.
The two parties held a round of talks in Vienna, Austria, last month. They agreed that Zarif, Ashton and Kerry meet in Muscat tomorrow.
