Cyclone Star repeats as Team of Week in OFB Friday Morning League


(MENAFN- Arab News) Cyclone Star repeated as Team of the Week in the penultimate week of double round eliminations in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 3 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

The 13th week results left The Pinbusters the only team not to win at least one Team of the Week award while the rest have multiple accolades to their credit.

In claiming its second team honors Cyclone Star returned the top tally of 26 points following its 20-0 romp over Pinbusters on total pinfalls of 2549-2244 and rank points of 6 and 2.

D'Luf's Strikers drew the bye team but failed to cash in as they ended up second-best on 23 points taking only 3 rank points for their output of 2339 to go with the automatic 20 match points.

For all intents and purposes league-leading Taurus put the lock on the No. 1 spot with 21 points in this session beating Velocity Strikers 16-4 on total pinfalls of 2564-2046 and rank points of 5-4.

American Garden shot the highest total pinfalls of 2580 for the top rank points of 8 in a 12-8 victory over D' RJ's Cardinals who rolled total pinfalls of 2558 for rank points of 7.

Honors were evenly distributed with Maruan Alcantara of American Garden and Cardinals' Kristhea Mae Busico winning the men's and ladies Bowler of the Week awards on 582 and 449.

Robert de Guzman and Bash Langa produced the two top scores at Cyclone Star on 506 and 498 with Fatima Jintarat on 465. Thong Langa added two games of 154-147 as did Arman Gamboa 166-238.

Despite bowling pressure-free D' Luf's failed to have a 500 series score from anyone its highest at 478 courtesy of Cromwel Marzo. Farida de Guzman tallied 472 and Danny Atubang made 430. Contributing two games each were Danny Francisco 138-145 Cesar Pagtalunan 126-149 and Sol Cuenca 151-146.

For Taurus the trio of Jhoon Caisip Edwin Ronquillo and Regino Mendoza delivered big time on 552 530 and 522 in that order. Gil Catral finished on 486 while Fedelyn Bustinera shot two games of 125-132.

Over at American Garden Tom Langa and Lexter Atienza backed up Alcantara with rounds of 497 and 494 with Benjie Espinosa another player to enjoy solid outing on 484. Christine Stone's 122-172 and Bob Stone's 151 rounded out the scoring.
