Palestinian FM Speaks Over the Phone with Italian Counterpart

(MENAFN- QNA) Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki agreed with Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni during a telephone call Saturday to speed up the convening of a Palestinian-Italian joint ministerial committee early next year.

Maliki said he looked forward to working with his Italian counterpart to develop bilateral ties on one hand and to revitalize the role of Italy as member of the European Union for ending the occupation and establishing a Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital on the borders of 67.

The two Ministers also touched on the tension in occupied East Jerusalem, as a result of the policies of Israel, especially the aggression against Al Aqsa mosque and daily attacks threatening the sanctity of the Muslim sacred place.
