Acer net profit hits USD21.38m in Q3

(MENAFN) Acer, the Taiwanese struggling personal computer maker, reported it has registered a net profit of USD21.38 million during the July-September of this year, making this its third profitable quarter in a row, Arab News reported.

The third quarter net profit is compared to a net profit of USD 15.834 million in the previous quarter, but a net loss of USD430 million in the same period last year.

The company said that the increase in net profit came as the result of the good product mix the company released during the quarter, new product announcements and back-to-school demand.

During the third quarter of this year, Acer posted revenue of USD2.80 billion, declining by 7 percent compared to the same period last year, though it was up by 5.3 percent compared to the April-June period of this year.
