UAE's EEF to expand aluminum production

(MENAFN) Masharie LLC, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments , announced that both its subsidies Emirates Extrusion Factory, EEF, an aluminum extrusion company and White Aluminum Extrusion (WAE), a producer in the aluminum and glazing sector, are going through important expansion plans in their businesses, Gulf News reported.

EEF and WAE said that these plans come as a result of an increase in demands for their aluminum products from across the region, which resulted in the demand for their aluminum to increase by 13 percent from 24.100 metric tons in 2013 to 27.250 metric tons in 2014.

These expansion plans include EEF commissioning a new production line at its aluminum extrusion plant in Techno Park in Dubai, which is expected to start commercial production by the end of the January-March period of 2015 and result in increasing the capacity by another 6.000 metric tons per annum, as well as the company finalizing a new powder coating plant with a capacity of 7.200 metric tons per annum.

Meanwhile, WAE is planning to construct another plant, which will have a capacity of 4.800 metric tons per annum.

Both EEF and WAE, which export 60-70 percent of their finished goods to GCC countries and nearly 25 countries across the Mena region, said that they also plan to expand their business to include over 50 countries over the next five years.
