Menominee MI USA - November 3 2014 - The first sequel in a new medieval fantasy e-series written by Beth Durkee includes a pointed parallel to the 2014 Hamas kidnapping of three Israeli youths. A disguised political message was added to the storyline after Durkee received an IM from an Israeli musician on July 9 regarding the situation near his home
“A bit hard to concentrate here these days…” wrote the musician.
Durkee took action by writing awareness of Hamas integrity into her readers’ hearts. She highlights Hamas kidnappers’ cowardice and irrationality by writing:
But what kind of message could this be? He wondered. ‘We are cowards who murder children?’ or maybe ‘We are afraid of grown
men?’
