(MENAFN) The UAE's Ministry of Economy announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sultanate of Oman, which was represented by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP), on the cooperation of speeding the legal and technical in the field of consumer protection between the two countries, Gulf News reported.
The Ministry of Economy said that both countries have made significant headway in the field of legislations concerning the protection of consumer rights, and that this MoU will build upon the bilateral relationship between the countries as well as establish up to date and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices for the benefit of consumers in both countries.
"The MoU will help drive further cooperation between Oman and the UAE, affirming that the MoU will allow for a better exchange of information, studies and expertise, with a key outcome of the agreement being that consumers in the UAE and Oman will gain access to information related to the price of commodities," Chairman of Oman's Public Authority for Consumer Protection said.
