French Publicis acquires Sapient for USD3.7b

(MENAFN) French advertising group Publicis announced acquiring US marketing, communications and consulting firm Sapient in a USD3.7-billion deal, Arab News reported.

Once the deal is completed, Publicis' all-cash takeover will boost its digital and interactive services business to half of the group's total and lead to higher revenue growth.

The combined group is expected to have annual revenue of USD10 billion, with more than 75,000 employees worldwide. The deal comes 6 months after the collapse of Publicis' USD35 billion merger with Omnicom Group.

Last month Paris-based Publicis announced posting revenue growth in the January-September period of only 1.5 percent, and said it expected it to remain about the same for the rest of the year.
