British manufacturing up in October

(MENAFN) Britain's manufacturing soared surprisingly in October, led by a strong domestic demand which helped factories overcome the worst fall in export orders since 2013, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

British figures stood in contrast to the eurozone, as German manufacturing achieved modest growth last month, while manufacturing activity in France and Italy, the second- and third-biggest eurozone economies, shrank.

"Solid demand in the US and loose UK financial and monetary conditions, at present, appear to be just about offsetting the impact of the weakness of demand in the eurozone," economist at BNP Paribas said.
