Saudi's car sales up 5.7 percent in H1

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia's car sales market witnessed an increase by 5.7 percent, with the selling of 412,921 vehicles during the January-June period of this year, Arabian Business reported.

According to the released number, Toyota topped the sales with a 35 percent share of the market with over 150.000 vehicles sold, while Hyundai came in as second with almost 72.000 units sold, which is about 17.5 percent of then market share and Nissan came in third, with almost 33.000 cars being sold, an 8 percent market share.

Saudi Arabia, which is the largest market for automobile sales in the region, has shown resilience in the first half, despite the discouraging economic conditions though it is expected that the sales performance in the country will slow in the second half of this year due to the political and economic situation in the region.
