Bahrain to invest USD172.3m in projects


(MENAFN) Bahrain announced it has approved USD172.3 million during the last three months in funding for various infrastructure projects the country is undertaking, Arabian Business reported.

Bahrain said that 27 contracts, worthUSD83.5 million, were awarded by Bahrain's cabinet, while other 30 proposals at an estimated worth of USD94.1 million are currently drafted for approval at a later date.

The approved projects include the expansion Awal Avenue in Juffair, reclamation of land for the Salman industrial Area in Hidd and building new embassies and residences for diplomatic missions in the UAE and Kuwait, at a cost of USD21.7 million.
