S. Korea Netherlands to Expand Cooperation in Energy Development
(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Seoul November 03 (QNA) - South Korea's President Park Geun-hye held a summit with Dutch King Willem-Alexander at the presidential office Monday and agreed to expand cooperation in energy development.
They presided over a signing ceremony in which a South Korean consortium led by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute won a bid to upgrade the capacity of a Dutch experimental reactor according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website.
The two countries also agreed to cooperate in building a new atomic reactor worth 500 million euros in the Netherlands and signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in developing atomic energy and managing water resources.
In addition the two sides agreed to expand cooperation in renewable energy such as wind energy. President Park asked for the participation of Dutch companies in South Korea's plan to become a Northeast Asia oil hub. (QNA)
