(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The maternity management programme of the National Health Insurance Company (Daman) will now operate under the patronage of Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak Chairwoman of the General Womens Union (GWU) Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and Head of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

Shaikha Fatima is one of the leading global voices for mother and child issues in the UAE and across the world.

“Daman is honoured and delighted that Shaikha Fatima has given her patronage to our maternity management programme. As the Mother of the Nation she is an inspiration to us all. We share many common goals with Her Highness particularly in relation to maternity issues here in the UAE. The patronage of Shaikha Fatima will raise the profile of the importance the UAE places on all matters relating to women and children” said Dr Michael Bitzer Daman’s CEO.

Rym Al Falasy secretary-general of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood said: “Shaikha Fatima has always been a leading advocate for the adoption of initiatives that promote a sustainable and positive environment for families and children. Her Highness is very keen on providing the necessities required to achieve this noble goal.”

Daman’s maternity management programme is a complementary service for members of Daman’s enhanced plans and ‘Thiqa’ the health programme for UAE nationals. It supports members with information on dietary requirements and child care during pregnancy and the critical two months after delivery.

Maternity management is one part of the Daman health support services which also include support on issues such as diabetes asthma rheumatoid arthritis breast cancer colorectal and cervical cancers. -newskhaleejtimes.com
