Death Toll Rises to 54 in Pakistan's Suicide Bomb Blast


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Islamabad November 03 (QNA) - Death toll from a suicide bomb blast near Wahga border has risen to 54. Another 70 people are injured.

Three Rangers officials are also among the dead.

The injured persons have been shifted to different hospitals in Lahore.

Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif have strongly condemned the attack.

In their separate condolence messages on the incident they said the entire nation is united against the abortive theory of terrorists.

They said the terrorists cannot succeed in their nefarious designs to divide the nation according to Radio Pakistan.

The Prime Minister has directed the Interior Ministry and law enforcement agencies to provide all necessary support to the Punjab Government in investigating the Wahga incident to bring those responsible for this human tragedy to justice.

He has also sought a report on the incident. (QNA)
