Saudi- Taxi meters mandatory in 90 days
(MENAFN- Arab News) The Ministry of Transport has announced it would introduce the new mandatory meter system for taxis within three months.
Faisal Al-Zibin from the ministry said the most important aspect of the new system is ensuring taxi drivers use their meters and the tracking system connected to the interior and transport ministries.
He said the second phase would see all public transport vehicles using the system including student buses. He said 12 companies have been approved to handle the metering system to calculate fares in Riyadh.
Other companies would be approved for other cities soon he said.
