Qatar- QRC honours Qatari pioneers

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) yesterday honoured pioneers who have contributed to Qatari society in the areas of charity and volunteerism, and passed on their experience and knowledge to the next generation.

The two QRC pioneers honoured were Amna Al Moftah, a great donor to QRC's local and international activities in the past, and Sabah bin Said Al Kuwari, an old volunteer who helped transform QRC's message and principles into reality in the form of developmental and social programmes.

Al Kuwari and Al Moftah were honoured with certificates and symbolic prizes.

QRC Secretary General Saleh bin Ali Al Mohannadi said, "We thank our brother Al Kuwari and our sister Al Moftah for their great contributions and appreciated efforts. We are proud of working with them, as they laid the foundations for many achievements, some of which are known and others are not. Our Islamic religion urges charitable and humanitarian action, and we seek only the reward from God."

"We hope that society and interested organisations will join us. We need to make use of and well invest the long experience of the elderly. Through its relief and other humanitarian mandates, QRC is part of society and works in the best interest of society. We are open to all segments of society, and we believe that the early generation is the basis of everything that we do," he added.
