Algeria marks sixtieth anniversary


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Grande Poste d'Alger in the Algerian capital. Today is the sixtieth anniversary of the Algerian war of independence from France which remains a defining moment for Algeria and its elite. On the night of November 1, 1954, some 30 explosions rocked government targets in the colony which had been under French occupation for 132 years.
