Saudi investors keen to promote UK trade ties

(MENAFN- Arab News) British trade envoy Lord Thomas King of Bridgwater CH introduced a number of joint investment opportunities for Saudi businessmen to promote trade between Britain and Saudi Arabia during his recent meeting with the top officials of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce(JCCI) on Wednesday.

Lord King along with Mohamed Shoukat British consul general and other trade officials highlighted the growing trade links between the Kingdom and Britain.

The commercial partnership with Britain includes fields such as education and transportation and drainage projects.

Lord King praised the historical relationship between the two Kingdoms. He said that Saudi Arabia provided excellent prospects for inbvestors.

The delegation was received by Mohammed Mazen Batterjee vice president of JCCI members of board of directors namely Fahd bin Seban Nassar bin Awad Allah Al-Salami Faiz bin Abdullah Al-Harbi and Hani bin Abdulaziz and a number of business owners.

Lord King also praised the role of the private sector in promoting economic relations between Saudi Arabia and Britain. He said Saudi business owners are keen to strengthen the relationship between Britain and the Kingdom.

Batterjee said the Kingdom has a strong economy and follows flexible investment policies.

'In recent years the economic partnership between the two countries has seen a significant development at all levels particularly in the field of investment and trade where Saudi Arabia is the largest trading partner in the Middle East to Britain' he said.
